Dr. Harms Board Certified In Sports Medicine

Duluth, MN (05-02-2017) – Dr. Samuel Harms, one of Orthopaedic Associates’ Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeons, is now Board-Certified in the sub-specialty of Sports Medicine. Patients will benefit from the additional training and knowledge in caring for injured athletes.
Dr. Harms is trained and educated in working with individuals who require complex knee ligament and cartilage surgeries, complex shoulder stabilization procedures, and hip surgeries. He’ll work closely with Orthopaedic Associates’ rehab and therapy team to treat injuries nonoperatively as much as possible.
“Every patient’s situation or goal is unique,” said Dr. Harms. “My promise is to provide quality, individualized care to all of my patients.”
Dr. Harms’ Orthopaedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship and Specialty Training included working with the Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center and serving as the Associate Team Physician for the Cincinnati Bengals. He also served as the Team Physician for the Mason High School Football Team, and the Team Physician for Denver Public Schools.
He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and his orthopaedic surgery residency took place at the University of Colorado in Denver.
Dr. Harms sees patients at Orthopaedic Associates’ Duluth and Hibbing clinics and Ely Bloomenson Community Hospital in Ely. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
